Yokohama Orange Oil Tyres

MSH Media has an extensive amount of experience helping Automotive companies get their message to market. Yokohama has a new technology in it’s tyres using the citrus oil from the skin of Oranges in the rubber compounds of the tyre rather than petroleum based oils. Orange Oil technology makes for good race tyres and high performance tyres and it also makes for good eco-friendly tyres for everyday driving.

The brief called for a tie in with a car give away promotion, product awareness and associating these new tyres with Orange ( it’s unique point of difference). The original charcoal grey car was wrapped matt orange and then given a cool old school GT stripe and custom plates.

We then engaged world class automotive photographer Easton Chang and set about finding a location. To really make this modern orange car pop we used a dark background as a contrasting colour but also used an old street machine style workshop to make the content in the image contrast too. The next job was to add oranges to this creative recipe, over 400 kilograms of oranges in fact!! We hired a truck and went to Sydney fruit markets at 3.30am to get the best oranges. It was a strange experience approaching the sellers and saying ” I want to buy half a tonne of your most orange coloured oranges and I don’t care what they taste like!”

The result was pure Chang magic and was included in Easton’s submission for the advertising category at the 2013 Australian Photographer of the Year Awards which he won by the way.
